Fashion Week – New York
Fashion news — By admin on February 28, 2010 at 10:24 pmWe already know that designers will produce some sorts of fashion shows in order to showcase their latest collections. However, speaking about the most recent show, it was held on the month of September last year i.e. in the name of Spring 2010 Fashion Week. Recently, there was also one such show held under the sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz and hence, it was referred as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. There were also some other sponsors witnessed as well. For instance, Olympus sponsored for the fashion show named Olympus Fashion Week. The latest venue busy with a lot of fashion events is New York City in Bryant Park, which is a park covering 8 acre land. There have been some tents put in this area and thereby making it has a temporary fashion arena. We all know that fashion week tents will be absolutely huge and fully air conditioned. In addition, there will also be quite a few venues exclusively allotted for the designers to showcase their talents. Speaking about the individual venue, usually it will range up to 12,000 square feet. On the other hand, there are also some fashion designers, who will look forward to have their collections show in some off-site venues like showrooms etc.
The preceding season to the winter i.e. February is the time for looking forward to witness The Fashion Week fall shows. On the other hand, the preceding late season to the summer i.e. September is the time for looking forward to witness The Spring Fashion shows. The accreditation prior to the event will be asked to seek by the journalists. The fashion designer themselves will be held responsible for the guest list, as these are just invitation-only shows.
Why:
Fashion Week is an excellent opportunity for American (and a few international) designers — ranging from Oscar de la Renta to Zac Posen — to show off their upcoming collections. The fashion shows are often entertaining, accompanied by loud, mood-setting music and changing lighting. The press writes about and photographs the runway collections for newspapers, magazines, internet and television so the general public can see what is going on in fashion.
